MOBILIST announces new partnership with Pakistan Stock Exchange

London/Karachi, 1 September 2026. The United Kingdom’s MOBILIST programme is partnering with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) to unlock more private investment in the country’s sustainable development and climate transition through products listed on the exchange.

The partnership announcement comes after MOBILIST provided technical assistance to support the development and listing of the Parwaaz Green Action Bond – the first Green Bond to be listed on the PSX and denominated in Pakistani rupee.

According to research by the UK’s Growth Gateway programme team, in collaboration with the Boston Consulting Group, Pakistan must mobilise over £275 billion in climate finance by 2030 to address its severe climate vulnerabilities, with a focus on adaptation, resilience, and private sector engagement.

MOBILIST is the UK’s flagship public markets programme and invests in listed products on public markets to mobilise private capital into emerging markets and developing economies, furthering sustainable development outcomes. It also produces research to increase understanding of mobilisation through public markets to inspire other investors and market participants to pursue similar transactions.

Through its partnership with the PSX, MOBILIST seeks to connect with the exchange’s network of issuers and market intermediaries in Pakistan to identify products eligible for support. The programme provides a unique combination of equity capital, technical assistance, and advisory services to support initial public offerings (IPOs) and the development of new listed products. In Pakistan, this complements the UK’s wider financial sector partnership and ecosystem building work, including support to Karandaaz, Parwaaz, PMIC and InfraZamin Pakistan, which is helping to expand SME finance, microfinance and sustainable investment.

Alison Blackburne, Deputy High Commissioner Karachi, said: “The UK is proud to partner with the Pakistan Stock Exchange to help unlock private investment for businesses tackling climate and development challenges in Pakistan. Products such as the Parwaaz Green Action Bond show what can be achieved when innovative development finance taps into the potential of public markets to mobilise private capital. This approach is critical to attracting investment that can drive growth and development to benefit the people and economy of Pakistan, as well as strengthening trade and investment links with partners such as the UK.”

Farrukh H. Sabzwari, CEO of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, said: Farrukh H. Sabzwari, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), stated: “The Pakistan Stock Exchange is proud to partner with the UK’s MOBILIST programme to support businesses in accessing Pakistan’s capital market. Through this partnership, eligible businesses can benefit from equity investment, technical assistance, technical advisory, and enhanced visibility to support their journey towards listing on the Exchange.

The PSX joins MOBILIST’s network of ten other partner exchanges, including emerging market exchanges from Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
